U.S. tire reference

UTQG grades and DOT codes, from the public NHTSA files.

Look up treadwear, traction, and temperature grades for a tire line, or decode the plant and manufacture week in a sidewall DOT code.

About this data

These are rows in NHTSA's ratings list, under the brand string that list stores. The list does not say whether a tire is still sold, and it has no category field. Light-truck tires, deep-tread winter-type snow tires, and temporary spare tires are outside the UTQG rule, so a missing line is not a grade. Sorting these rows is an ordering of NHTSA's list, not a ranking of the best tire. Data last verified October 21, 2026 (UTC). Data-quality notes.

00T ABCDEF 0109

A plant code looks up the company name NHTSA stored for that code. It does not list brands. A date code becomes a manufacture week, including pre-2000 three-digit dates.

Brands with the most rows in NHTSA's list

This counts rows in the ratings file. It is not a quality ranking, not a list of the best tires, and not a list of what is on sale.
